Alumni Hall
Across the parking lot from Lord Hall is Alumni Hall, where you will see mainly the building’s north side. Built in 1901, Alumni Hall contained a gymnasium, drill hall and chapel (weekly attendance expected until 1925). Extensively renovated over the years, the building’s offices now include that of the university president. Alumni Hall is in the area of campus designated by the National Register of Historic Places in 1978 as a Historic District. Representing UMaine’s oldest section, the district comprises Alumni, Carnegie, Coburn, Fernald, Holmes, Lord and Winslow halls and also the President’s House, Cyrus Pavilion Theatre and The Maples.
