Clapp Greenhouse Photography

Garrett Clare

At the center of UMaine’s Orono campus are the Roger Clapp Greenhouses. The greenhouses, pictured here in January, contain a myriad of plant life that can be found all over the world. Here, in this warm atmosphere, these plants thrive and grow. This location serves as a place of research for sustainable agriculture, forest ecosystem science, entomology, and horticulture. It also serves as a location that, for me as a photographer, provides a bounty of creativity and inspiration, especially during the winter when there isn’t much vegetation outside.
