Capital News Service interviews Allan about Hazing Prevention Consortium

Capital News Service, based at Virginia Commonwealth University, spoke to University of Maine professor of higher education Elizabeth Allan about the Hazing Prevention Consortium, a program she started through the organization StopHazing.org that works with universities across the country to create specialized plans to address hazing on their campuses. “We provide what’s called technical assistance, or coaching and expertise to help each institution develop their own strategic plan for hazing prevention that’s tailored to their particular campus culture and the demographics of their students,” Allan said. VCU and William & Mary two of 11 schools in the recently launched sixth Hazing Prevention Consortium cohort. The Virginian-Pilot, the Daily Press and The Roanoke Star shared the Capital News Service report.
