Description
Our program is particularly suited for adults who may have started a college, but never completed. The Master’s Programs allow adult learners to continue to build on their educational experiences.

We have courses that give certification for Cooking for Crowds: Food Safety Training for Volunteers, Master Food Preserver Volunteers, & ServSafe® Certified Food Protection Manager
Extension Homemaker clubs across the state engage in educational opportunities that help to further the message and mission of Cooperative Extension, including program areas around agriculture, food, youth development and food safety.
We offer an online Master Gardener Volunteer training. Mainers looking to learn more about gardening and volunteering in their community can do so by becoming a certified Master Gardener Volunteer. University of Maine Cooperative Extension is accepting applications for the Master Gardener Volunteers training program in August annually.
Penobscot Valley Senior College offers in-person, online, and hybrid educational classes for adults 50 and older, on a wide range of topics, including Active Agers needs and issues, current events, literature, music, art, history, technology, and more.

University of Maine Tuition Waiver for Undergraduate Courses
Description
The University of Maine offers a Tuition Waiver to adult Maine residents 65 and older who take undergraduate courses for personal enrichment or to attain their first undergraduate degree.
We have an undergraduate minor and a graduate certificate in Interdisciplinary Disability Studies. Both programs are fully on-line and asynchronous. Students can enroll in one or more courses in the curricula.
Older adults are welcome to attend any of our educational opportunities, including monthly “Lifelong Maine” webinars or our annual in-person conference, held in June.
Our WGS at work series features discussions by students, faculty and people from the community, on issues ranging from gender and education to STEM-related fields as in conversation with WGS studies.
The Lobster Institute hosts annual events such as the US-Canada Lobster Town Meeting, a 2-day event, alternately in a US and Canadian venue. We also lead and facilitate many research projects, some of which lend themselves to citizen science, and offer invited lectures
