About Us - Rising Tide Center Personnel

A message from our Provost

UMaine Provost, Dr. Jeff Hecker color photoThe Advance Rising Tide initiative, which was intended to enhance the retention and advancement of women faculty in STEM and Social-Behavioral sciences at UMaine, has fostered a supportive climate beneficial to the broader campus community. The University of Maine embraced diversity initiatives implemented under the auspices of the ADVANCE project, and now seeks to sustain the success of the project in partnership with the Rising Tide Center. While the Center’s name has changed, our mutual goals remain the same: furthering gender equality at the University of Maine.
