Sporer finds ISIL supporters normalize terrorism on Twitter

UMaine News Release, Jan. 30, 2020 – A study by  assistant professor of Sociology Karyn Sporer and colleagues at the University of Nebraska found that soft-sympathizers of ISIL leverage social media to justify violence perpetrated by the terrorist group, normalizing their tactics and their idealogy.
