Greenwood
Welcome to Greenwood!
The town of Greenwood was incorporated in 1816 and named after a local land surveyor, after the initially suggested name, Russia, was rejected. The town thrived with agriculture and lumber production, and these industries continue today with the addition of tourism. One notable resident of Greenwood was Leon Leonwood Bean, the founder and namesake of L.L. Bean.
