Cary
Welcome to Cary!
Cary Township is a tiny, six-mile by three-mile town between Hodgdon and Amity. Cary was named after a local lumberman, Shepard Cary, who was also a State Legislator and Congressman. Mr. Cary was born in Massachusetts and moved to Houlton with his family in 1822. He was very dedicated to his work in the lumber and agricultural industries.
Cary is known for its agriculture and forestry. Home to a large portion of the Lt. Gordon Manuel Wildlife Management Area, Cary is a great area for sportsmen, with numerous ATV trails connecting to other surrounding towns!
