Mark Anderson has been selected as the 2015 Distinguished Geddes W. Simpson Distinguished Lecturer. The Geddes W. Simpson Distinguished Lecture was established to support a lecture series through which speakers of prominence that have provided significant insight into the area where science and history intersect are invited to speak on campus.

Garrett Raymond, a junior at the School of Economics recently received a Margaret Chase Smith Public Affairs Scholarship Award for 2015-2016. Drs. Caroline Noblet and Mario Teisl contribute chapter on Eco-labeling to new Handbook of Research on Sustainable Consumption.  

Caroline Noblet, Xuan Chen and Keith Evans all presented papers at the Maine Economics Conference at Bates College. SOE also had four graduate students (Dorina Grezda, Abby Kaminski, Robert Langdon, Kate Warner) and two undergraduates (Chelsea Ogun, Ryan Jennings) presenting posters. Abby’s poster won the graduate student award.  

Sujita Pandey, an undergraduate at the School of Economics in her third year will be be working at Jackson Lab (JAX) as a Human Resource Intern this summer. She hopes to acquire experience concerning effective professional recruitment strategies using data analysis and other tools to help develop efficient recruitment, selection, and training for the laboratory in the future.
