Temporary School Social Worker position
Are you interested in school social work but don’t want to commit to a whole school year? My name is Bethany Browne and I am a 2013 MSW graduate of the USM school of social work. I currently work in Rockland at South Elementary School as a school social worker. My school counselor counterpart is out on maternity leave through Christmas vacation and we are seeking a long term sub for the start of this school year. Candidates with an MSW, LCSW, LMSW and LSW (with prior crisis management and school experience) are welcome to apply!
Our school is located in beautiful Rockland, Maine, home to the Lobster Festival and Maine Blues Festival. It is hard to believe that our beautiful city has so many social challenges. Outsude of school our students deal with poverty, drugs, homelessness, domestic violence, food insecurities among other challenges. In fact, every student in our school qualifies for free breakfast and lunch. Your social work degree and skills will be well used in this job. South School has amazing suppostive administration as well as some fabulous dedicated teachers. I will work closely with the substutute to mentor and support them.
