The Opportunity Alliance is seeking Crisis Clinical Supervisors (multiple openings) to join our collaborative Maine Crisis Line team as we support the agency as it helps resolve some of our community’s most pressing problems. This mission driven work is exciting, fast-paced and meaningful. The Maine Crisis Line is part of our continuum of crisis intervention and stabilization services and provides 24-hour telephone response for adults, families and children during a mental health crisis.
The ideal candidate will be an experienced clinician with supervisory experience. The position oversees the Crisis Call Specialists within the call center environment by providing clinical support and assistance in the moment to address the various crisis calls that are received.
Working with the Crisis Program Director the Crisis Clinical Supervisors are responsible for ensuring quality clinical oversight and leadership by providing immediate support with assessing risk of clients; triaging the needs of clients and ensuring appropriate referral and service delivery all while the client is on the phone; and reviewing cases with staff and providing clinical guidance and support.
Crisis Clinical Supervisors act as the clinical resource to the team regarding mental health and substance use issues and monitors crisis calls, following up on client interventions to insure appropriate dispositions. Please note this is not a mobile position and the Crisis Clinical Supervisors nor the Crisis Call Specialists go out into the field and instead work collaboratively with the Crisis Response Services in the eight Districts across the State.

Qualifications:
  • Master’s Degree in social work or a related field required.
  • Licensed Clinical Social Worker or Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor preferred, Minimal of Clinical Conditional required.
  • MHRT-CSP certification or ability to achieve within 30 days of employment required.
  • 1-3 years of supervisory experience in the content areas of this position preferred.
  • Call Center experience preferred but not required – training will be provided.
  • Experience in clinical psychiatric assessment of patients and ability to document assessment in concise, comprehensive manner acquired in internship or prior employment. Ability to make clinical decisions autonomously within the context of the team.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Special skill areas: technical literacy, comprehensive knowledge of DSM-V, excellent oral and written communication and demonstrated team effectiveness and consensus building.
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends, evenings, and occasional overnights required.
  • Computer proficiency and technical literacy required.
  • Driving is an essential and regular part of this position’s responsibilities. A valid driver’s license and good driving record are required.
  • All candidates must pass an extensive criminal background check, child protective services and sex offender check and must not be on the state or federal suspension and disbarment list.
