Townsend receives NSF Career Award Grant

August 1, 2018 – Kristy Townsend, assistant professor of neurbiology, recently received a $1M Career Award from the National Science Foundation to engage biomedial students in investigations of the mechanisms of adult neurogenesis.  In May 2018, Townsend also received $750K from the American Heart Association to study the effects of aging on fat tissue and on cardiovascular and metabolic conditions.
