Chelsea Fairbank

Chelsea’s work in the Office of Research Development revolves around collecting and disseminating the research impacts at UMaine. As a graduate student in the Anthropology Department; her research and scholarship resonates from an urgency to address rapid environmental change as a lived and present experience. She is interested in thoughts which challenge assumptions around knowledge, justice, and environmental stewardship. Focusing on large-scale fossil fuel extraction sites, and the peoples impacted in these zones, her research seeks to deconstruct political and economic on-goings of coloniality and dispossessions.
