Grants 101: Seeking, Analyzing, and Writing Basics
This workshop will provide information and instruction on how to set-up and use Pivot- a funding opportunity database accessible across UMS- along with general strategies on reading funding calls and proposal writing.
(Annually in Oct & Mar on Tues & Thurs of fall & spring breaks)

Finding Funding Challenge (asynchronous)
Each day, for five days, participants will receive an email with short, self-paced tasks designed to build grantsmanship skills. You will learn how to effectively and efficiently find funding opportunities tailored to your creative and scholarly interests, strategically read and respond to a funding call, and make your grant proposal a standout. 
(Annually during the 3rd Week of December/finals’ week)

Apr 9th: NSF CAREER Webinar Featuring Program Officers
When: Thursday April 9; 1:00-2:00 pm
Registration: Required to attend (only open to participating New England Research institutions)
Where: Virtual via Webex; UMS researchers can email ORD for the registration link

Description: This information session will include an overview of NSF CAREER directly from a panel of NSF program officers. There will be an initial presentation from panelists, followed by a Q&A. Attendees should submit their CAREER-related questions in advance on the registration form. Panelists will answer as many pre-selected questions as time allows.

Grants Academy supports researchers from across UMS in the process of writing a significant external grant proposal to fund their research, scholarship, and/or creative activity. Topics include: research/programmatic ideas’ mapping; finding funding opportunities and developing a funding plan; creating a project budget/justification; collaborative, transdisciplinary research and broader impacts; proposal writing tips; and more.
