NYT interviews Stoll on U.S. seafood exports

The New York Times interviewed Joshua Stoll, a University of Maine associate professor of marine policy, for a story on the challenge of keeping freshly caught seafood in local markets. Stoll discussed how the U.S. exports much of its seafood, a business worth approximately $5 billion in 2023. Supply chains for local markets have been neglected, but organizations like the one Stoll founded — the Local Catch Network — are working to rebuild them by providing a platform to search for local sources of seafood. The Kansas City Star, Fort Worth Star-Telegram, Miami Herald and other news outlets shared the NYT article.
