Foreign languages are essential to my career path as a vocal performance major. I have to be able to understand, emote, and pronounce the languages of many different countries. I sing a lot of Italian as a classical singer; so taking this Italian class is very helpful for me to not only understand and pronounce what I am singing, but also to know something about Italian culture. I went to Italy before learning anything about the language, and now taking this language fuels my wanderlust, giving me a desire to travel and learn more. I encourage all to explore a language; you may learn something about yourself.
