You Love Math…
Great, so do we… There’s no rule that says you can’t take a more advanced class than your major requires. As long as you meet the prerequisite for a class, you can take it if you’d like.
Calculus is an exciting subject for people who like math, and you can take it even if your major does not require it. For newcomers to calculus, we recommend MAT 126 (Calculus I). If you if you have a score of 76.00 or higher on the ALEKS exam you should be well prepared to take MAT 126, so why not give it a try?
If you have already taken some calculus, then MAT 136 (Honors Level Calculus I) might be of interest. It covers the same material as MAT 126 but it goes more deeply into the foundations of calculus, and introduces basic proof-writing.
Those with AP Calculus credit and those looking for other options are encouraged to stop by to discuss their options.
Whatever you choose, consider talking to us about majoring in math, or minoring in mathematics or statistics!
