Not a Math Fan?
Don’t panic! We offer courses for students who just want to meet their QL Requirements, namely with MAT 101, MAT 103, and STS 232. These classes are designed to give a college level of mathematics without repeating the math you may not have enjoyed in high school. You don’t need to take the Math Placement Exam (ALEKS) to enroll in these courses. However, we encourage you to register for these courses soon after starting at UMaine, before you forget your high school math skills. And who knows, you may end up enjoying our math courses more than you expect!
