Prof. Natasha Speer featured in Chronicle

Mathematics Education Professor Natasha Speer is featured in a headline article in the Chronicle of Higher Education.  The article highlights Prof. Speer’s work to address the fact that while faculty have deep knowledge in their subject, most have not been trained in the foundational knowledge required for effective teaching.  Her solution involves building this training into professional development for graduate TAs, as piloted in the Department of Mathematics & Statistics at UMaine.
