Putnam Competition Results
Congratulations to UMaine’s Putnam Mathematical Competition team. This year, the team’s top scorer was Graham Van Goffrier, who placed in the top 10% nationwide. His teammates Logan Boyd and Crockett Lalor each placed in the top 50% nationwide.
The annual William Lowell Putnam Mathematical Competition is a highly competitive contest for undergraduate mathematics students. Students compete as individuals and as a team representing their university. Known for its challenging problems, the median score is typically 1 out of 100 possible points.
