Deposit Funds Online

The MaineCard Service Center offers a convenient and secure Online Card Office.

You may check your Black Bear Bucks balance, transaction history, save payment methods, and set up recurring transactions right here.

Please remember that any unused Black Bear Bucks are fully refundable upon your exit from the University of Maine.

For Students, Faculty & Staff Only


Log in to use a credit or debit card to deposit funds quickly and securely to your Black Bear Bucks account. You will need to log in with your UMS account to deposit.

Guest Deposits for Family & Friends


Use a credit or debit card to deposit funds to a student’s Black Bear Bucks account. Ensure you have both the student’s last name and student ID number.

Attention: Be sure to click the “Make Deposit” button on the Deposit Confirmation Page or the funds will not go through.
Failure to do so may result in a “Pending” charge on your credit/debit card which will fall off your account after several days.

Deposit Funds On Your Smartphone

Transact eAccounts add money. Explained in accompanying paragraph.

If you have Transact E-Accounts (App Store or Google Play) already, simply login to the app and select the “Add Money” button. You can pay directly from your Apple or Google Wallet within seconds if you already have a payment method set up.

You can deposit funds via cash or card at the MaineCard Office during normal business hours. You may also deposit funds via cash-only at the Fogler Library Value Transfer Station.


Report a Lost MaineCard

To prevent abuse to your UMaine accounts, please notify us of any lost or stolen cards immediately:

On Transact E-Accounts: Settings > Card Mgt > Toggle card off.

After hours: notify the UMaine Police Department at 207-581-4040

Replace a Lost MaineCard

To replace a lost physical MaineCard, please visit us at the MaineCard Office in the DTAV Community Center.

All replacement MaineCards cost $20.00. We accept cash, credit/debit, check or we can bill it to a student’s account.


Replace a Worn Out/Damaged MaineCard

If your card no longer swipes or taps, please visit the MaineCard Office for a replacement card.

There is a $20.00 replacement fee for any damaged or abused MaineCards that are not normal wear and tear.

New or Replacement Departmental MaineCard

All new and replacement Departmental MaineCards cost $20.00. Contact us to obtain one.

Deposit Funds to Departmental MaineCard

Complete a Departmental MaineCard Contract and send to Budget & Business Services at umbudget@maine.edu for fund deposit.
