Facilities

The Center for Cooperative Aquaculture Research (CCAR) sits on 22 acres on the shore of Taunton Bay in Franklin Maine.  Next door is the USDA National Cold Water Marine Aquaculture Center USDA (NCWMAC).  Together, the two Centers comprise the largest and most advanced aquaculture research and development campus in the US.

The CCAR has over 100,000 SF of aquaculture R&D facilities contained in five main buildings and four greenhouses.  The site has undergone many renovations and upgrades since being purchased by the University of Maine in 1999, and continues to be a work in progress.  Click on the links to the left to learn more about aquaculture facilities at the CCAR.
