Auxiliary Enterprises

Think of Auxiliary Enterprises like a small city — we take care of overseeing all the services that you’ll use day-to-day outside of classes and your organizations. We’re here to take care of you and ensure your life on campus is a happy, healthy one. When you have a question about any of these services in this passport please reach out and we’ll help bridge the gap.

Housing Services

When you live on campus, you’re in a safe place to call home. Your hall is the place you’ll make friends, do your FREE laundry, hang out and spend your time when you’re not in class or activities. Because this is your home, we want you to let us know when you need something. Shoot us an email or call when you need help. Res Life’s on-site staff will also help you with your day-to-day needs.

Res Life

The residence halls are our Black Bears’ home at UMaine. Our job is to provide students with different activities and programs that will help them make connections with others and support their personal growth and development. Students learn through workshops, programs, and even by meeting with their RA/CA individually or as a group. Our trained, live-in staff also ensure that the residents have on-site people they can go to when there’s a problem — or if they want to connect. Want a fulfilling job after your first year? Consider joining our team.

MaineCard

The Mobile MaineCard is your digital ID — your passport to all things UMaine. You’ll use it to get into your hall and room, access UMaine facilities and the Bangor Area Transportation Buses, tap into dining and printing and much more. The MaineCard has transitioned to a mobile version that will be loaded onto your smartphone. Have questions? Hit us up.

UMaine Dining

Students enjoying a meal together in the Bear's Den.

Hungry? We gotcha covered! From our two continuously open dining halls (7 a.m.–8 p.m.) to our retail locations where you can get everything from brick oven pizza and sushi to burgers, stir fry and sandwiches, we help satisfy your cravings. Use the Kiwibots to deliver your meal (or snack) or snag a latte at the Starbucks in Memorial Union. Download the Everyday app to view menus and nutritional information or conveniently order ahead for pick-up. Have food allergies or dietary restrictions? Our on-site dietitian can help you maximize your meal plan and dine safely on campus. Need a job? Work flexible hours around your schedule with UMaine Dining.

University Bookstore

Course materials + latest tech + awesome looks = a winning combination right on campus. University Bookstore is your on campus source for course materials, the latest technology from Apple and Dell and awesome looks with stylish gear. Our Tech Center also includes an on-site repair shop which means your computer stays on campus.

Package & Postal Center

When you live on campus, you’ll pick up your packages at the Package and Postal Center, located inside the University Bookstore. How will you know? You’ll get an email from um.yougotapackage@maine.edu when your package is ready for pickup. Bring your MaineCard or a photo ID.

Parking & Transportation Services

Thinking about bringing a car to campus this fall? You’ll need to get on the waitlist for parking permits. Residential students park in red lots. Commuter students park in black lots. Learn the rules, where you can park and about our parking pup, Buttercup, on our website. There are also other eco-friendly ways to get around if you don’t have a car, including the Community Connector bus (ride for free with your Mobile MaineCard) or take advantage of the walking and bike trails.

Printing Services

UMaine’s on-campus print shop is also your resource for quick copies and specialty printing. Need a poster printed for your room or handouts for your presentation? Send your job to us and we’ll take care of it. Have a personal project you want printed? We can produce small jobs like stickers and cards to larger runs like calendars and portfolios. Consult our experienced staff and let us help you make your print dreams come true.

Streaming entertainment & Wi-Fi

When you arrive at UMaine, you are automatically set up with streaming entertainment services and high-speed Wi-Fi as part of your housing plan! Feel free to bring your own Roku, Amazon Fire or Apple TV devices, or check out what we have to offer on Stream2. UMaine offers 24/7 support for both streaming and Internet issues.
