Touchstone Social Network

Ever wanted to help a friend and didn’t know what to do? The Touchstone Social Network (TSN) is a network of students trained in basic helping skills, such as active listening, reflecting, handling a crisis, keeping boundaries, understanding confidentiality, and other issues that can come up in college, such as stress, anxiety, relationship issues, substance abuse, and depression.
TSN is a valuable experience for those in leadership positions or those who are interested in helping others. You learn ways to connect with those around you and effectively support and assist individuals who may be experiencing distress or making unhealthy choices.
Training sessions take place once a week for six weeks. Once you have completed the course, you get a Touchstone Sticker, Touchstone T-Shirt and Certificate of Completion, plus a wealth of skills that could help you in your personal and professional life. Topics covered include:
- Active listening
- Suicide Prevention
- Bystander Intervention
- Self Care
- Responding and Referral
