Margo Lukens

Margo Lukens joined UMDLI in the 2006 cohort, and has served on UMDLAC since 2008. She is a professor in the UMaine Department of English, where she teaches 16th-19th-century Euro-American literature and Native American literatures. Her interests include Wabanaki literature and languages; Native American and First Nations drama; literature of American colonization, and decolonization work. She is past director of the McGillicuddy Humanities Center in CLAS, and serves on the board of the Abbe Museum in Bar Harbor. Current projects include publication of traditional Penobscot texts in bilingual format, and creating a digital Wabanaki Resources Portal.
