Project Coordinator – Rape Response Services

Rape Response Services, a subsidiary of Penquis, with offices in Bangor and Dover-Foxcroft, seeks a dynamic individual to work as a full-time (40 hours/week; benefit eligible) Project Coordinator. This position is based in Dover-Foxcroft with travel required throughout Penobscot and Piscataquis counties.

The successful candidate will provide direct services to those affected by sexual violence and stalking with a focus on providing support throughout the rural communities in Penobscot and Piscataquis counties. Outreach efforts will include building and maintaining relationships with other service providers and systems to create referral networks and improve supports for survivors. The candidate will help to provide training to professionals, lead multidisciplinary teams and community awareness events throughout both counties. The candidate will participate in an on-call rotation, including nights and weekends, supporting the provision of 24/7 services to victims/survivors.

The successful candidate must have an Associate’s degree and related experience. A Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Human Services or a related field and at least one year of specifically related experience are preferred. Candidates with work or volunteer experience providing services and supports to victims of violence are encouraged to apply. Must have a personal philosophy in keeping with the program’s goals and objectives and an understanding of clinical, legal and/or political issues related to sexual assault. Must have initiative and ability to work independently; be capable and willing to work remotely from home; have access to reliable, insured transportation and be willing to travel; flexible work hours and on call shifts, including evening and weekend rotations are a requirement. Proficiency with computer programs such as Zoom, Google Teams/Docs/Slides/Sheets/Forms, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Prezi, and databases are preferred. Previous public speaking or teaching experience and knowledge of the local service area is a plus. The starting pay for this position is $18.70 per hour.

Upon hire and periodically thereafter, must have background check results that are satisfactory to Penquis and indicate no previous or current record of involvement with child abuse, neglect or exploitation and no disqualifying criminal record or motor vehicle record as outlined in current contract provisions.
