A Life’s Compass PLLC is looking for a Outpatient Therapist
A Life’s Compass PLLC. Is a small growing outpatient mental health/case management agency in Norway
Maine. Currently looking for 2 Outpatient therapists to assist children, adolescents, and adults in
identifying a mental health diagnosis, collecting life story information through a bio–psychosocial
assessment, and developing a treatment plan to work on identifying needs. Abiding by the policy and
procedures of A Life’s Compass PLLC. And the State of Maine specially section 65.
Act as client’s advocate to coordinate required services or to resolve emergency problems from a crisis.
Develop and implement treatment plans based on clinical experience and knowledge. Evaluate clients
physical and mental conditions based on review of client information. Meet with families, physicians,
school personal, probation, attorneys, and other interested parties to collect and exchange information
necessary during treatment development. Refer clients or family members to community resources or
to other specialist for testing or needed services.
Provide therapy to client and their family members if appropriate to assist them in understanding/
dealing with and/or supporting client needs. Evaluate the effectiveness of therapy and clients progress
in resolving identified problems and moving towards defined goals.
Modify treatment activities and approaches as needed to comply with changes in client status. Learn
about new developments in your field by reading professional literature, attending courses, trainings,
and seminars. Maintain good standing with the State of Maine licensure to practice therapy.
Establishing and maintaining contact with other social services. Arrange for discharge plans and
summaries. Gather information about community mental health needs and resources that could be
used in conjunction with therapy.
Review with client all medications, contact physician as needed. Plan and conduct programs to prevent
substance abuse, nicotine use, to improve community health and counseling services. Make appropriate
reports to the child abuse and neglect state agencies as needed.
Must Have: current social work license to practice therapy with either a LMSW–CC or a LCSW.
A sense of humor is a must. Good positive working skills and self–care are important.
