Maine Crisis Line – Crisis Call Specialist
The Opportunity Alliance is seeking a full-time Crisis Call Specialist. In this role you will answer calls, determine the nature of the crisis, assess and triage the needs of the caller, and provide phone-based services to meet that need. You will provide phone support and linkage to other services needed to assure continued stabilization and resolution of the crisis experience. You will work with a team of trained crisis providers with around the clock clinical consultation and support to provide evidence-based approaches to crisis service. The Crisis Call Specialist will utilize telephonic and computer-based technology to manage rapid response to calls, provide telephone crisis intervention, connect callers to services, and create quality documentation that supports the service and stabilization planning for the caller.
This is a 37.5 – hour per week, hourly paid position located in South Portland, ME.
Qualifications:
·      Associate Degree required, along with a year or more of crisis related experience preferred.
·      Ability to earn the MHRT-CSP certification within 30 days of employment required – training onsite provided required
·      Must have solid oral communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly, succinctly, and in a customer friendly manner, along with the competence to communicate with multiple parties during a crisis call. The ability to learn and understand written crisis call documentation skills. The ability to manage complex tasks effectively.
·      Previous experience working in a call center, customer service environment a plus
·      Demonstrated ability to work effectively with complex information to address challenging situations
·      Ability to become familiar with DSM-V information.
·      Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
·      Flexible schedule is required.
·      Must demonstrate the ability and willingness to learn and understand the use of documentation software and resource applications proficiently enough to perform documentation while simultaneously engaging with clients on the phone. The ability to use telephone, instant messaging and chat technology.
·      Must be able to able to successfully pass a criminal background, child protective service check & sex offender check and must not be on the state or federal suspension and disbarment list.
Care Coordinators for Opiate Health Home
The Opportunity Alliance is seeking a Full Time Care Coordinator to join the Opiate Health Home team. The Care Coordinator is a direct service staff position for the Opiate Health Home (OHH). This position contributes to program outcomes through the provision of care coordination for OHH members supporting a recovery oriented, harm-reduction, trauma informed, integrated health service that strives to improve health outcomes and enhanced client engagement. Work is conducted at members’ homes, at providers’ offices, at TOA locations and in other community settings. Care Coordinators will collect data, participate in program initiatives, attend team meetings, supervision and work groups, coordinate service teams for each member, use information to improve health outcomes and complete documentation in a timely fashion. OHH will be serving adults diagnosed with an Opiate Use Disorder who would like to be on Medicated Assisted Treatment (MAT). This position will be part of the interdisciplinary team which includes a MAT prescriber, Nurse Care Manager, Peer Recovery Coach, Clinical Counselor, Clinical Manager and Program Director.
These are 40-hour, full-time position located in Portland, Maine.
Qualifications:
•       Associates degree required in the field of substance use, mental health, psychology, or a related field (behavioral health or human services) or a combination of education and experience that qualifies the candidate to receive an MHRT-C certification. BSW or MSW preferred (Bachelor’s and/or Master’s Degrees in psychology, social services, counseling, rehabilitation, and nursing maybe applicable).
•       Certification: MHRT-C certification or (level A or B with a strategy to receive full certification).
•       Two years of experience doing direct service with oppressed populations required, three preferred. Preferred case management experience with adults who have been diagnosed with substance use and mental illness and have a history of trauma, homelessness, poverty, chronic pain and serious health issues. Deep understanding of recovery, harm reduction, trauma informed care, motivational interviewing, and the strengths perspective and ability to build competency in these areas. Clear understanding and ability to navigate the substance use and mental health and health systems. Understanding of integrated health care and how to improve clients’ health outcomes.
•       Must be able to able to successfully pass a criminal background, child protective service check & sex offender check and must not be on the state or federal suspension and disbarment list.
•       Must be able to exert moderate physical effort with occasional standing, walking, reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching, frequent typing and lift and carry material weighing up to 25 pounds.
•       Driving may be necessary to attend meetings and trainings and for the occasional need to meet with clients offsite and within the program service area. This may include transportation of clients or driving to agency location to complete work. A good driving record is required.

The Opportunity Alliance is seeking a full-time Care Coordinators to join our Behavioral Health Home team. The Care Coordinator is a direct service staff position for the Behavioral Health Home. Per Diem Family & Early Childhood Clinician
The Opportunity Alliance is seeking a Family & Early Childhood Clinician to join the team in our Head Start/Early Head Start Program. Head Start promotes the school readiness of young children from low-income families through local programs. Head Start and Early Head Start programs support the mental, social, and emotional development of children from birth to age 5.
The Family & Early Childhood Clinician delivers comprehensive family capacity-building and support services in addition to children’s mental health services to promote the healthy development of children served in the Head Start/Early Head Start program. This position contributes to the mission & culture of the Head Start program by offering consultation to staff as well as role-modeling & implementing strengths-based family & child centered approaches that move forward child and family goals.
 
The Family & Early Childhood Clinician:
·      Identifies the mental health diagnosis and treatment needs of referred children.
·      Provides treatment that meets the mental health needs of referred children.
·      Supports families in actively engaging in supporting their child’s school readiness.
·      Builds relationship with families that support family well-being, strong parent-child relationships, and ongoing development of parents & children alike.
·      Works collaboratively across Head Start/Early Head Start component areas to provide seamless services.
·      Ensures excellence in service delivery through ongoing development of skills & professional network.
·      Ensures timely & accurate record-keeping across databases.
This is an as needed, per diem position based in Portland.
Qualifications:
·      Master’s Degree in social work, counseling or related degree required.
·      Three years’ experience serving children and families in a social service
field required.
·      Maine Licensure at the LMSW-CC or LCPC conditional level is required.
·      Experience with Play Therapy required.
·      Experience with Parent-Child Psychotherapy preferred.
·      Ability to deal with crisis situations, while maintaining a calm and calming
presence with staff and clients.
·      Ability to work independently and collaboratively required.
·      Ability to work flexible hours including evenings required.
  • Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office and email is required.
