Clinical Counselors for Opiate Health Home
Join our dynamic Opiate Health Home (OHH) team in Portland, ME. The Opportunity Alliance is seeking a full-time, salaried Clinical Counselor to participate as the clinician for our new Opiate Health Home. This position requires a Masters in Social Work or related field, LMSW-CC, LCSW, LCPC-C or LCPC license and 2-5 years of working with substance use/mental health experience. Clinical supervision and support for obtaining LCSW licensure is provided.
This position involves direct individual and group counseling while working with an interdisciplinary team to provide clinical insight into the service delivery to clients enrolled in the OHH who will also be receiving Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT). This counselor will be supporting a recovery oriented, co-occurring integrated health service that strives to improve consumer engagement based in harm-reduction, trauma informed, whole-person care. Provides strengths based, client centered care with an emphasis in meeting client where they’re at within the recovery spectrum. This will be an integrated health service, working closely with the Behavioral Health Home team along with the collaborative OHH team which includes; a Peer Recovery Navigator, Nurse Care Manager as well as a MAT prescriber. The Clinical Counselor partners with the Clinical Manager to provide clinical direction of the programs, fostering good communication & optimal relationships with community partners as well as participating in a multi-disciplinary case review team. The ideal candidate will engage with warmth, strength, flexibility and authenticity.
These are full time 40 hour/week, salaried positions located in Portland, ME.
Qualifications:
•     Master’s in Social Work or Counseling required.
•     Minimal of Clinical Conditional (LMSW-CC or LCPC-C) required. Licensed Clinical Social Worker or Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor preferred.
•     Strong and diverse clinical knowledge, including fluency in recovery-oriented service, trauma-informed care, Motivational Interviewing, treatment of co-occurring disorders, and the principles of harm reduction.
•     Experience in developing successful relationships with vital work partners.
•     Experience with integrated healthcare for adults preferred as well as substance use.
•     Experience in electronic data collection and reporting very helpful. Comfort and experience with ECR is critical. Will require daily review of electronically stored clinical documentation.
•     Appropriate licensing/credentialing to meet all MaineCare OHH Regulations.
•     Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office is a preferred.

Care Coordinators for Opiate Health Home
The Opportunity Alliance is seeking a Full Time Care Coordinator to join the Opiate Health Home team. These are 40-hour, full-time position located in Portland, Maine.
Qualifications:
•       Associates degree required in the field of substance use, mental health, psychology, or a related field (behavioral health or human services) or a combination of education and experience that qualifies the candidate to receive an MHRT-C certification. BSW or MSW preferred (Bachelor’s and/or Master’s Degrees in psychology, social services, counseling, rehabilitation, and nursing maybe applicable).
•       Certification: MHRT-C certification or (level A or B with a strategy to receive full certification).
•       Two years of experience doing direct service with oppressed populations required, three preferred. Preferred case management experience with adults who have been diagnosed with substance use and mental illness and have a history of trauma, homelessness, poverty, chronic pain and serious health issues. Deep understanding of recovery, harm reduction, trauma informed care, motivational interviewing, and the strengths perspective and ability to build competency in these areas. Clear understanding and ability to navigate the substance use and mental health and health systems. Understanding of integrated health care and how to improve clients’ health outcomes.
•       Must be able to able to successfully pass a criminal background, child protective service check & sex offender check and must not be on the state or federal suspension and disbarment list.
•       Must be able to exert moderate physical effort with occasional standing, walking, reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching, frequent typing and lift and carry material weighing up to 25 pounds.
•       Driving may be necessary to attend meetings and trainings and for the occasional need to meet with clients offsite and within the program service area. This may include transportation of clients or driving to agency location to complete work. A good driving record is required.

Case Manager for The Women’s Project (TWP) 
The Opportunity Alliance is seeking a full-time Case Manager for The Women’s Project. The Women’s Project, a statewide program providing targeted case management to women affected by substance use and addiction. The Case Manager provides intensive community and home-based case management and support services to women who are working towards or are in recovery who also are pregnant and/or have a child/children under the age of six.
The Case Manager will connect women to community supports including coordinating transportation to clinics, support groups, and other services. The Case Manager will also support family reunification in collaboration with DHHS when ready including actively participating in Family Team Meetings, advocating for successes, and assisting women in maintaining sobriety by having services and supports in place.
This is a 40-hour position serving the Androscoggin County (Lewiston and beyond).
Qualifications:
·      Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or related field required.
·      LSW preferred, not required. Would ask that unlicensed candidate to become LSW licensed.
·      Experience in the substance abuse/recovery field with experience working in homes and with the child welfare system.
·      Two years’ experience in substance abuse/recovery field required.

Case Manager for Homeless Youth Services
The Opportunity Alliance is seeking is seeking a full time Case Manager for our Homeless Youth Services department. This position provides intensive case management services to youth and/or families in York and Cumberland counties who are experiencing homelessness. You will assist clients in obtaining stable housing by providing individualized support including researching housing options, assisting with budgeting, and advocating with landlords. You will help connect youth and/or families with resources in the community which will help meet their basic needs and will satisfy all contractual obligations by entering data in agency and state electronic databases and completing assessments and service plans.
This is a full-time, 40-hour per week position. Position requires a flexible work week including evenings.
Qualifications:
·      Bachelor’s Degree in Social work or related field required.
·      LSW preferred, not required. Would ask that an unlicensed candidate become conditionally licensed.
·      At least two years’ case management experience working with families and children who have experienced homelessness, mental health issues/trauma, substance abuse and/or poverty.
·      At least three years of case management experience to include home visiting required.
·      Minimum one year of direct experience working in the child welfare system required.
·      Direct experience volunteering and or working with and for young people in advocacy, youth development, youth leadership and direct social services.

Outreach Case Manager
The Opportunity Alliance is searching for a full-time Outreach Case Manager for our PATH program. The PATH program is designed to support the outreach, engagement, and delivery of services to eligible persons who are homeless and have serious mental illnesses and/or co-occurring substance abuse disorder with a particular emphasis on: persons most in need of services and/or engagement by an Outreach Worker; services which are not supported by mainstream mental health programs.
The Outreach Case Manager provides community outreach to homeless persons in a variety of settings. Outreach efforts are to identify and engage homeless and at times, those at risk of homelessness. Outreach includes, but is not limited to, engagement, monitoring supporting, securing and linking services, mainstream resources and housing on behalf of the individual, integrating the individual into the community, advocating for homeless services, including shelters, schools, mental health, medical and social service providers.
Outreach includes assertive and ongoing efforts to identify and engage homeless persons and families who are not receiving services, for the purposes of informing individuals of community resources, providing referral to temporary safe places to reside, re-establishing relationships with families and/or local communities assuring timely access to local resources and supports.
This is a full-time, 40-hour per week position located in York County.
Qualifications:
·      MHRT/C required (or a level A or level B with a plan to get full certification). If no degree must have two years’ experience in social services. BSW or MSW preferred. (Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degrees in psychology, social services, counseling, rehabilitation, may be applicable.)

You will contribute to maintaining a clean and organized facility and in maintaining staff office, charts, and documentation.
·      MaineStay is a Portland-based collaborative program includes an eight-bed residential treatment facility and support services for young adults, 18-25, struggling with homelessness and mental illness.
·      The Bridge is a 12-bed short term residential treatment program for homeless adults with a major mental illness many of whom also experience co-occurring conditions.
·      Gordon Green is an eight-bed permanent residence providing intensive treatment and support for elderly adults under guardianship with a combination of challenges including mental illness and disabilities related to age or physical impairments.
·      Helen Winslow Ray House is a seven-bed comprehensive rehabilitation residence providing support, counseling and advocacy for adults with a major mental illness.
·      Morrison Place at Randall Street is a 12-bed facility, serving homeless men and women from across the state, that offers intensive individualized treatment, education around mental health diagnosis and the complexities of co-occurring disorders, coping skills to help manage symptoms, and relapse prevention skills such as anger management, conflict resolution, ADL skills, and transitional living skills.
·      Ocean Street is our newest residential facility located in South Portland. This Residential Treatment program serves adults living with serious and persistent mental illness, substance misuse, and may be experiencing homelessness.
There is a special need for people willing to be part of our awake overnight team and for those who may find weekend shifts more preferably to their schedule. A shift differential is paid for those working overnight!
