General Education Assessment Faculty Resources

General Education Assessment Pilot

Direct assessment of our General Education program requires participating faculty to assess student work from their classes using the General Education rubrics. Faculty meet for 30 minutes with a Gen Ed Faculty Fellow to identify an assignment that can be assessed using the rubric. Students will not see the rubric scores, and all data collected from this assessment process is used to better enhance General Education assessment. For directions on how to assess your students in Brightspace using the General Education rubrics, please review our instructions sheet by clicking the button below.

Other Faculty Resources

Below are links to our full student learning outcomes, rubrics, and alignment sheets for each of our General Education requirement categories. Faculty will be contacted directly to participate in pilot activities, but we strongly encourage all General Education instructors to explore and utilize these resources to align their courses with the General Education learning outcomes.

As the assessment process continues to expand and be refined, more alignment sheets will appear below. Participating faculty can fill out the worksheets with the help of their assigned faculty fellow and CITL. Alignment sheets can be a useful tool for any General Education faculty, and we support exploration into these worksheets.
