UMaine Extension offers green bean preservation workshops

University of Maine Cooperative Extension is offering multiple workshops about green bean preservation on July 22. 

A Lunch and Learn workshop to be held from noon–12:30 p.m., July 22 at the Piscataquis County office, 165 East Main St., Dover-Foxcroft, will feature a demonstration about freezing green beans and discussion of safe and tested recipes for a pressure canner. Also available that day will be free canner pressure gauge testing from 9 a.m.–2 p.m.

Later that day, UMaine Extension will host an online class about pressure canning basics from 6–7:30 p.m. July 22. Using fresh green beans, UMaine Extension staff will demonstrate and explain each step of the process to safely preserve garden produce using a pressure canner.
