‘A fishery in a sea of change’ highlights latest American lobster research
Amalia Harrington, a Maine Sea Grant marine Extension associate at the University of Maine, collaborated with other scientists in the National Sea Grant American Lobster Initiative (ALI) to publish a report detailing how warming waters impact lobsters.
The researchers compiled a suite of recently published scientific articles and made the information accessible to the nonscientific community.
“A Fishery in a Sea of Change: How the American Lobster is Dealing With a Changing Environment,” by Harrington, Jennie Rheuban, and Carolina Bastidas, is an interactive StoryMap that summarizes the latest science to illustrate how warming waters across the Northeast impact lobsters at all life stages from egg to adult.
