Phong Nguyen: Changing lives is top priority
Phong Nguyen earned a degree in chemical engineering with a concentration in pre-medical studies and a minor in chemistry from the University of Maine. The Vietnamese native hopes to one day use his passion for health care and fitness to make a difference back home. This fall, he will be pursuing a doctorate degree in biomedical engineering at the University of Rochester. As an undergraduate student, Nguyen was deeply involved in the International Student Association at UMaine and worked as a personal trainer at the New Balance Student Recreation Center on campus. Nguyen says attending UMaine was a blessing that helped him grow academically, personally, socially and culturally.
