Talk on Rural Economic Development in Maine featured in Maine Campus article
UMaine’s student newspaper, The Maine Campus, covered the Mitchell Center’s Sustainability Talk, “Shifting Dynamics of Rural Economic Development in Maine,” in a February 10 article.
The February 3 talk featured Lee Umphrey, Vicki Rusbult, and Will Harper from the Eastern Maine Development Corporation (EMDC), which works to support Maine communities and businesses and frequently partners with the Mitchell Center. The talk focused on a new model of economic development that EMDC has launched, Economic Opportunity Response Teams (EORT), to enhance traditional technical assistance services.
