Phoebe & LA students sort scallops

Thanks to PhD candidate Phoebe Jekielek for sharing her science with Aquaponics students from Lincoln Academy earlier this week. Students helped Phoebe to sort young scallops and other invertebrates from spat bags collected from Penobscot Bay, where Phoebe and collaborators at Hurricane Island Center for Science and Leadership are studying the dynamics of wild and farmed scallop populations. In addition to being a member of the Leslie Lab, Phoebe is lead scientist at Hurricane, and a fabulous educator, pond hockey player and human.

Thanks, Hurricane Island! for this great video of Phoebe, the students and the scallops at the DMC.
