Roommates & Room Changes

What is MyCollegeRoomie?

My College Roomie is a student social networking and roommate self-selection app that makes matching with other roommates easy and streamlined. You can find roommates that match based on interests, communicate with them before move-in, and more.

Room With Someone New

First-year students can log into My College Roomie, create a profile, and complete the questionnaire. Then you can look at other students’ profiles and view your compatibility. You can send messages to any or all of your suggested matches to connect further. As an added bonus, you can utilize My College Roomie to network with potential new friends!

Academic Year Room Changes

If you find that a room situation isn’t ideal for you, we can work with you and your Residence Life Staff to ensure that you are placed in a different room and/or with a different roommate. In order to make a Room Change, you must:

  1. Ask your Residence Life Staff if you can make a Room Change. They will send a form to Housing Services letting us know that a room change is needed.
    • Note: Housing Services cannot make any changes to a student’s room assignment until the student’s Residence Life Staff sends in a Housing Change Form. Please check with your RL Staff if you have not heard anything about a room change. PLEASE DO NOT make a room change/roommate swap on your own as this could open up potential security/safety issues.
  2. Once Housing Services is alerted to the desired room change, we will find an open spot for you to move to. We will then make you aware of the change acceptance along with the move-in day and time.
