Bio: Jane Wellman-Little is a lecturer in reading and literacy education, part of the School of Learning and Teaching at the University of Maine College of Education and Human Development. Her career spans more than 40 years as a teacher and administrator in public and alternative schools, and a lecturer at UMaine. She is past president of the New England Reading Association, and has served on the Maine State Chickadee Book Award Committee and the Correll Book Award Committee. Her outreach work in schools includes the Old Town Elementary School summer program, site visits, statewide workshops, and the Raising Readers book rubric project.
