Krissy Miner Memorial Award for Outstanding M.Ed. Student in Educational Leadership
The Krissy Miner Memorial Award for Outstanding M.Ed. Student in Educational Leadership is presented to a master’s student in educational leadership who has demonstrated an affinity for their own leadership development as an educator. The recipient understands the cognitive, interpersonal and intra-personal aspects of their own leadership development to better meet the needs of students, families and stakeholders in their community.
Statement from the Educational Leadership faculty:
In 2020, this award is granted posthumously to Krissy Miner, who passed away unexpectedly in August 2019. Krissy taught at Downeast Elementary School in the Bangor School Department and was finishing her M.Ed. in the educational leadership program. A vibrant leader, who exemplified the qualities necessary to best serve the needs of students and teachers in her building, it is fitting that the award is created in her honor and that Krissy be its first recipient.
