Outreach, Education, Prevention

We are committed to supporting the mental health and well-being of our UMaine students, not only through direct counseling, but through spreading awareness, education, and stigma reduction.

This interactive training for staff and faculty teaches signs and symptoms of distress, crisis assessment, de-escalation skills, and points of contact for resources.

This interactive training focuses on elements of the Crisis Assessment and De-escalation training, as well as moral injury, compassion fatigue, and self-care.

This presentation is usually requested by professors teaching First Year Seminar courses but all students can benefit! The presenter will cover the 8 dimensions of wellness, self-care, and coping skills to help students manage all of college’s demands.

The goals of this training are to increase knowledge and skills for staff, faculty, and students in order to enact preventative mental health and well-being strategies on a college campus.
