The Center is open: Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Our Location: On campus, we are located at: 125 Cutler Health Building— across from Gannett Hall
New and returning clients can schedule an initial consultation by calling the Counseling Center at 207-581-1392 after 8:30 am, Monday through Friday.
What To Expect
In an initial consultation appointment, you and the counselor will talk about what led you to call and discuss options that best meet your need for moving forward which could include such things as counseling at the Center, help connecting to other resources on campus or in the community, or referral to a clinician off campus.

Crisis Appointments
If you or a friend are in crisis – thinking of harming yourself or someone else, or you have recently experienced a significant traumatic event – please call us (during business hours), UMPD (207-581-4040) or 911.
Semester Breaks
You can still call us to discuss setting up an appointment when classes are not in session (summer and semester breaks). If we are not available when you call, please leave a message and we will get back to you as soon as we can.
If you are geographically located outside of the State of Maine and want services, we are unable to provide counseling services due to licensing laws in the state you are located. We must follow the licensing law in the state you are located. Please call to discuss further if this situation arises 207-581-1392.
