Background and Interests

Alan has been passionate about the role of supporting and inspiring students in the field of education ever since he became an English teacher who also worked in an administrative role for Cooperative Education in Taiwan. Alan has has found a sense of achievement in encouraging and supporting students to discover and develop their learning habits, interest, and application of knowledge to daily life. In education Alan values inclusivity, respect, and feeling of safety inside and outside the classrooms. Alan is a second year graduate student pursuing dual degrees in MBA and School of Policy and International Affairs at UMaine.  Alan also offers Mandarin (Chinese) courses at the Department of Modern Languages and Classics. Alan was a Fulbright Language Teaching Assistant (instructor of record) from 2019 to 2020. In his leisure time, he loves learning, reading, playing sports, watching movies, writing and performing musical pieces/songs.
