Melissa Malmstedt

Melissa Malmstedt is the Aquaculture Research and Education Program Coordinator and Industry Recruiter for the University of Maine’s Center for Cooperative Aquaculture Research (CCAR). She has been with CCAR since 2012. Over the years her focus has shifted from broodstock management and hatchery production of marine fish in recirculating aquaculture systems to aquaculture education and workforce development. Melissa previously worked as an education specialist at an AZA-accredited marine facility in Honolulu, Hawaiʻi, and as a fish culturist at a remote salmon hatchery in Southeast Alaska. She has a BS in Natural Resources and Environmental Management from the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa and an MBA in Business and Sustainability from the University of Maine.
