Kayla Rodriguez, LCSW
Kayla Rodriguez joined the University of Maine in 2020. She completed a BSW at Colorado State University and a MSW with a certificate in Animal Assisted Social Work at the University of Denver. Kayla’s practice experience includes micro, mezzo, and macro level interventions in rural and urban settings. Prior to joining UMaine, Kayla was coordinating victim advocacy services, advocating for trauma informed policies/practices, and providing counseling services at the University of Denver’s Health and Counseling Center. Kayla’s primary interests areas include interpersonal violence, trauma informed practice, animal assisted social work, advocacy, and organizational leadership and policy practice. Kayla’s clinical experience includes individual and group counseling with specific training in mind-body interventions, ACT, DBT, Animal Assisted Interventions, and EMDR.
