Counseling Services - Psychiatric Services
For students who may benefit from psychiatric medication in addition to counseling, we have a consulting Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner available to meet with students during the Fall and Spring semesters on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
Students who have a current prescription from another provider, and who are interested in having their medication managed on-campus, must first meet with a member of our counseling staff who will facilitate this referral. Students who are interested in knowing if medication may be helpful must also first meet with a counselor.
All students who receive psychiatric services through our consultant must also maintain a relationship with one of our clinicians for ongoing counseling.
Fee for Service
While counseling services through the Counseling Center are free of charge, there is a fee for psychiatric services. The clinician will speak with you about these charges at the time of your appointment. Please note that we are unable to bill your insurance directly (with the possible exception of Consolidated Health Plan). Upon your request, we will provide you with a copy of the bill, which you can submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement. Fees for this service may be charged directly to your Student Account (entered as a “Health Services Charge” for your privacy) or you may pay by cash or check at the time of your appointment.
