WOMEN’S, GENDER, AND SEXUALITY STUDIES

REQUIREMENTS FOR THE MAJOR

WGS major (33 credits),

  • WGS 101: Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies
  • WGS 103: Introduction to LGBTQ Studies
  • WGS 280: Intersectionality and Social Movements or WGS 206: Investigating Equity   
  • WGS 410: Feminist, Gender and Queer Theory
  • WGS 411: Internship in Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies*

Plus any One of the following Four courses (WGS will offer at least one of these courses yearly and on a rotation):

  • WGS 303: Social Media, Movements, and Change
  • WGS 340: Transnational Feminisms
  • WGS 351: Authorizing Women’s Sexuality
  • WGS 371: Border Crossing: Gendered Perspectives on Modern Migration

Capstone requirement: fulfilled by either WGS 410 or WGS 411, to be taken with a 0-credit WGS 499

 

            Elective courses, 15 credits, of which 6 must be at the 300 or 400 level
