WGS Sopomore Bell Gellis Morais in CLAS News

Bell Gellis Morais, a sophomore in psychology and women’s, gender and sexuality studies is developing K-12 curricula about the Grand Kankakee Marsh in Northern Indiana as part of a National Geographic Society grant. Gellis Morais is working with Katherine Glover, research associate at the Climate Change Institute (CCI) and recipient of a National Geographic Society Ea
rly Career Grant, to develop materials that will educate students and teachers about the past and present of an area once referred to as the Everglades of the North. Glover will also be teaching a Spring 2021 course in Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies, WGS 301/ 501: Women and Climate Change, designed to align with this year’s MHC symposium theme on “The Story of Climate Change,” and part of an ongoing effort to create interdisciplinary courses that blend the humanities with the sciences.
