If you are interested to apply for a Graduate or Undergraduate Research Assistant Position at WiSe-Net Lab, please read the following requirements carefully before applying online through UMaine Center for Undergraduate Research or Graduate School. Please note that each year we only have a few open positions and depending on your qualifications compared to other applicants you may or may not get selected.

Background in courses such as ECE 314, 316, 484 at undergraduate level, and ECE 515, 583, 585 at the graduate level will have a positive effect on your application. See teaching page for description of these courses.

GRE and TOEFL scores for graduate students should satisfy minimum requirements posted on graduate school website.  In addition, WiSe-Net lab gives preference to students with TOEFL scores above 100 (out of 120) and GRE scores above 140 (Verbal out of 170) , 160 (Quantitative out of 170), and 4.5 (analytical writing out of 6).

All students accepted as Graduate Research Assistant at WiSe-Net lab will receive a highly competetive stipend, tuition coverage, and health insurance assistance.  For more program specific requirements please visit the links below.  PhD students are required to pass their qualifying exam upon arrival or within their first year before funding is awarded.
