The subject is “Exploring Paths to Hope in the Face of the Ecological Crisis.”
Spencer Ward will dive deeper into exploring hope in an ecological context.
Dr. Mary Astumian, who serves on the Wilson Center board, will speak on “Caring for the Earth: Thoughts from Pope Frances”
Sandra Hutchinson will speak on “One Planet, One Habitation: A Bahá’í Perspective n Recasting Humanity’s Relationship with the Natural World,” which is the statement of the Baha’i International Community (an NGO at the United Nations) on responding to the environmental crisis
The porch will begin at 2 Pm on Sunday Sept. 21 and will take place at our home at 48 Mill Street in Orono.
Each speaker will have 15 minutes, leaving lots of time for discussion. We serve light refreshments afterwards.
This is a great opportunity for the students to talk about the current crisis and generate hope for the future!
