A small, outdoorsy paradise located near the larger town of Bethel, Newry is an exciting destination for anyone looking for fun in nature. Most known for being the home of Sunday River Ski Resort, Newry also boasts a variety other of lesser-known but equally-fun outdoor attractions, such as the historic Artist’s Bridge, many nearby swimming holes and waterfalls, and Grafton Notch State Park.
Fun Facts
- The Appalachian Trail passes through Grafton Notch State Park. Mahoosuc Notch, located just outside of Newry, is considered the “toughest mile” of the whole Appalachian Trail. (wikipedia.org)
