    • Located at Oak Hill Farm, this sugar house and store is open to visitors during the season (February to April) and offers maple syrup and maple-themed gifts in its shop. On Maple Sugar Weekend, they put on a great pancake breakfast in their heated barn and give tours.

Hiking

  • Mt. Cutler Trails Hiram, ME 04041
    • This network of more than 5 miles of trails showcase all of the beauty of Mt. Cutler and the surrounding area. Trails going up the mountain offer many panoramic views, as well as lovely forested areas.

    • Large area of protected public land containing “a 6 mile network of trails offering opportunities for year round recreation, including hiking, bird watching, snowshoeing, and more! There are also several geocaching sites to be found throughout the property.”

Historic

  • Hubbard–Cotton Store 1850 Maine Routes 5 and 113 across Saco River from junction with Maine Route 117
    • “The store is the most significant of the town’s commercial buildings. Its transitional Greek Revival-Italianate appearance is seen in the shallow window hoods and rather narrow cornice and corner boards.”
  • Soldiers Memorial Library 85 Main Street
    • “The Library is a one story, building  designed by the Boston architects Robert H. Wambolt and Amos A. Lawrence in 1914. ” “The Library and contains a tablet on which are inscribed the names of all the soldiers from Hiram who enlisted in the Revolution, Aroostook, War of 1812, Mexican, Civil and Spanish Wars.”
  • Wadsworth Hall Douglas Rd, Hiram, ME 04041
    • “The Peleg Wadsworth House is a very simple country house. Far more important than the fact that the house is an early 19th century house are the people connected with its history. General Peleg Wadsworth, builder of the house, was born in Duxbury, Massachusetts in 1748. He moved to Portland after his graduation from Harvard College in 1768.” “In 1790, Wadsworth was granted 7800 acres extending from the Ossippee River to the Saco River in appreciation for his service during the Revolution. The General did not move in with his family until January of 1807 when work on the house was completed.” “In 1808, the house in Portland was given to Stephen and Zilpah (Wadsworth) Longfellow, the parents of the poet, Henry Wadsworth Longfellow.”

    • The Saco River winds its way across Hiram, and is a great location for canoes, kayaks, fishing, and swimming. There is a small boat launch and swimming area close to the intersection of Routes 113 and 117 in East Hiram.
